Advisory

Aspect 23 has advised businesses in streaming, pay TV and media technology since 2013. The work is built around one idea: good teams still benefit from someone outside who can say what the room cannot.

A day a month in the room

Regular time with your leadership team, working on the questions that matter most that month.

A call whenever it helps

Direct access between sessions, by call or message, when a decision cannot wait.

The counterparty view

How streamers think if you are an operator, and how operators think if you are a vendor or a rights holder.

Where it applies

Streaming, pay TV, sport, news and the technology vendors that serve them, mainly across EMEA.

Five Mile

Five Mile is a free fuel price finder for the UK, France and Spain. It ranks nearby petrol and diesel stations by what a fill really costs once the extra driving is counted, using official government price data.

It is also a research project for Aspect 23: a real product, used by real people, built with AI-assisted coding (often called vibe coding) to better understand how modern product management works in practice, from idea to store listing to live service.

It is published by Aspect 23 Ltd and available at thisisfivemile.com.

About

Aspect 23 was founded and is led by Stephen Featham, who has worked for around thirty years in pay TV, telecoms and streaming product and partnerships.

The name comes from line 23 of the PAL video signal, which carries the data that tells a television what aspect ratio to display. A small signal that changes how the whole picture is seen.
